Tablet setup guide to ensure label printer, dot-matrix printer, and other hardware work correctly

TruckSIS Tablet Quick-Start Guide

Note: Follow the power-up sequence exactly to assure USB communications with the printers and scanner function properly.

Setup and power-up steps

Step 1

Remove the tablet computer from its slot and set to the side.

Step 2

In the cord storage slot at the front of the case, find the USB-C cable for the tablet.

Step 3

Install the USB-C cable into the port at the right rear corner with the label UP as shown. The cables at the inside and outside of the pass-through must be inserted with both labels facing up for tablet charging from the case to function.

Step 4

With tablet turned off, attach the other end of the cable to the USB-C port on the right side of the tablet as shown.

Step 5

The document scanner may be used outside the case on a nearby work surface, or alternatively in its storage location within the case. For outside-case use, connect the scanner cable to the USB-A pass-through at the front right corner of the case.

Step 6

For inside-case use, disconnect the black USB cable from the USB hub and install the scanner cable directly to the hub instead.

Step 7

Pull out the retractable power cable from the cord port on the left side of the case and connect to power.

Step 8

Turn on the label printer with the power button.

Step 9

Turn on the dot matrix printer with the switch. Press the side of the rocker switch nearest the front of the case for power on.

Step 10

Press and hold the power button on the tablet to turn it on.

Step 11

Charging and tablet-on indicators are in the upper right corner of the screen.

Power-up sequence summary

Follow the power-up sequence exactly to assure USB communications with the printers and scanner function properly. In summary, the sequence is:

  1. Assure tablet is powered off.

  2. Plug the case power cord into an outlet.

  3. Turn on power switches for the label printer and dot-matrix printer.

  4. Plug the tablet into the case.

  5. Power up the tablet.

Troubleshooting

If the sequence is done incorrectly and peripherals do not work, reboot the tablet with everything connected and powered on.
